Archway Farm Expands Farm Store and Offerings

Archway Farm’s new storefront offers a welcoming environment that connects consumers directly with the source of their food.

Nestled in the heart of the Monadnock region, Archway Farm is a pasture based livestock farm with a mission of providing exceptional meat to the community sourced from animals that have a high quality of life. A decade ago, the Florenz family acquired an 80 acre historic farm in Keene, NH with the vision of raising heritage pigs on pasture. Over the years, this vision has expanded to include pasture-raised chicken and a thriving herd of cattle. Now, after years of dedication to connecting with its customers, Archway is delighted to unveil its newly renovated self-service farm stand.

What sets Archway Farm apart is its meticulous control over the entire journey of its products from pasture to plate. Archway boasts an on-site USDA-inspected facility where they cut, package, and craft fresh & value-added products exclusively for their farm store.

Archway Farm’s owner, Mark Florenz shares:

“We are unique in offering the atmosphere of a small family farm alongside the experience of a retail butcher shop. We directly connect our customers to how our animals are raised and our knowledgeable staff can provide insight into various cuts of meat and how to prepare them.”

While Archway’s meat is also available at the Monadnock Co-op and Brownsville Butcher & Pantry, the farm’s vision has expanded significantly since 2020, enhancing their on-farm retail offerings. Beyond their own meat, Archway also collaborates with local farmers and producers to provide a wide variety of goods and staples in their store. Local products include eggs and lamb from Five Sigma Farm, gelato from Frisky Cow Gelato, microgreens and mushrooms from Wild Chives and veggies from Piccadilly Farm. Staples regularly available include milk, cheeses, bread, maple syrup and frozen berries. In addition to the newly expanded retail space, Archway Farm’s website also offers online purchasing options for whole animals and monthly meat shares with pickup available in the farm store.

The store operates under a self service model accepting cash, check and Venmo as payment methods. Visitors to the farm are able to find staff on hand from 9-5 Monday through Thursday ready to assist with payments, orders and culinary advice. Conveniently located on Arch Street, just a mile west of Keene High School, customers can shop while observing Archway’s animals grazing peacefully right outside the store. Google reviews reflect the value of the Archway Farm store to local clientele:

…the products are so incredibly fresh, and the options available are multiple. It is refreshing to have that kind of trust and appreciation for human nature to allow us to pick out our products, and then write down what we took and pay for it without a person present. The farm is a gem.”

As they look to the future, Archway Farm aims to continue expanding their offerings in response to the desires of the community, all while upholding a steadfast commitment to the well-being of its land and livestock.
